| | ⚾🧢 Arnold Selected with 11th Overall Pick in Major League Baseball (MLB) Draft. | Seminoles Florida State baseball junior left-handed pitcher Jamie Arnold was selected with the 11th overall pick by the Athletics in the first round of the 2025 MLB Draft. He becomes the 11th top-15 pick in program history and just the 3rd pitcher to earn that honor. He’s FSU’s highest overall draft selection since Buster Posey went No. 5 in 2008 and the highest-drafted pitcher since Jonathan Johnson in 1995 (No. 7). Arnold, from Tampa, becomes FSU’s 23rd first-round pick and third in the past two years, joining James Tibbs III (13th) and Cam Smith (14th) in 2024. It's only the third time FSU has had three or more first-rounders over a two-year span, matching 1991–93 and 1994–95. The 2024–25 stretch also marks the fifth time FSU has had back-to-back first-round selections. Arnold’s on-field accolades are just as impressive. He’s the first Seminole since Parker Messick (2021–22) to be named a consensus All-American in consecutive years. In 2024 and 2025, he earned 12 total All-America honors, was a two-time First Team All-Region and All-ACC pick, and twice a semifinalist for both the Dick Howser Trophy and Golden Spikes Award. He was also named Tallahassee Regional Most Outstanding Player two years in a row and was a finalist for Pitcher of the Year in 2024. | | Meet “Maggie,” the World’s Largest Magnetic Levitating Sculpture. 💫 | Master Craftsman Studio To honor Tallahassee’s All-America City win, Master Craftsman Studio created a new interchangeable disc for the Maggie sculpture, designed to mark key moments and milestones in the city. Fun Fact: The first artwork (TLH/FSU sculpture) was unveiled during the Motor, Drive Systems and Magnetics (MDSM) Conference, a major event that draws hundreds of industry leaders and researchers. | Learn More Created by FSU’s Master Craftsman Studio with MagLab support, the sculpture is a joint project with the City, FSU, and MagLab. Sponsored by the Friends of the First Florida Capitol and FSU Research Foundation, it showcases the city as the Magnetic Capital of the World. The City Hall Art Gallery, located inside the City Hall, hosts rotating exhibits throughout the year featuring a variety of artists and medium.
