| 🤩🛬 Tallahassee International Airport Recognized as an “Airport Technology Innovator” for Its Solar Farm Project. | City of Tallahassee LI Post Tallahassee International Airport (TLH) has received the prestigious "Airport Technology Innovator" Award from the Smart Airport Technologies Association (SATA). This award highlights the airport's innovative strides in sustainability, particularly through its collaborative Solar Farm initiative. As a result of this effort, TLH now boasts the largest on-site solar installation at any airport worldwide. The award was presented at the AIRPORTECH International Symposium held in Orlando, Florida, where top industry professionals gathered to explore the newest advancements in airport technology and innovation. This recognition underscores TLH's dedication to promoting environmental sustainability while leading the way in technological advancements within the aviation industry. The City of Tallahassee, the owner and operator of TLH, has long been a pioneer in sustainability. In line with its commitment to clean energy, the City manages two solar facilities on the TLH property. The Solar Farm exemplifies how airports can take the initiative in adopting renewable energy solutions. “Tallahassee International Airport’s leadership in sustainability continues to inspire the aviation industry,” said Ben Pingree, Deputy Director of Aviation, who accepted the award on behalf of TLH. “We are proud to receive this recognition and to have contributed to an initiative that will drive positive change for airports globally while cultivating greater sustainability locally. This project exemplifies the power of collaboration.”
