| 📈 Leon County evaluates the Domi Entrepreneurial Community Impact Report. | Tallahassee Reports Last March, the Leon County Commissioners received an update from Domi Education Inc. regarding the impact of their programs and initiatives. Domi entered into a public-private partnership with Leon County in 2013 to help stimulate economic growth. As a result of this collaboration, they secured a lease for a facility that hosts Domi Station, a co-working space that fosters creativity, innovation, and productivity. This lease was renewed in 2022 for an additional five years. According to the partnership agreement, Domi is required to submit yearly status reports to the county commissioners. The report highlights that the Center for Economic Forecasting & Analysis (CEFA) at FSU performs annual economic impact assessments of Domi Station's activities, using financial data from the startups it supports, categorized by industry, sales, investments, and job creation. The impact analysis revealed that due to ongoing operational expenses and sales from the businesses served, there was a total economic output of $55.6M for FY 2024. This activity also generated 261 jobs in FY 2024, resulting in $18.8M in income or wages. The report also states that since its inception, “Domi has nurtured 396 companies that have scaled beyond their support, significantly expanding their impact. These entrepreneurial success stories have empowered individuals to develop critical skills, launch thriving businesses, and drive substantial economic growth by creating jobs and fueling local economic activity.” One instance mentioned in the report is Call Simulator, Inc., a company that leverages artificial intelligence to help clients improve their conversation skills. In 2024, Call Simulator successfully landed multiple Fortune 500 clients and launched their first mobile app. In FY 2025, Leon County’s Office of Economic Vitality will work hand in hand with Domi’s leadership to enhance its impact on the economic growth of Leon County.

| 🧡 Ancil Carruthers, Tallahassee husband and father in urgent need of marrow transplant. | WCTV Ancil, a 38-year-old husband and father of three kids aged 17, 12, and 11, enjoys a rewarding career as a Pharmacist. He received devastating news from his doctors – he has been diagnosed with Hepatosplenic T-cell Lymphoma, a very rare form of cancer that accounts for less than 5% of all lymphoma cases globally. He and his family have discovered that in order to overcome this cancer and regain his health, he requires a peripheral blood stem cell (PBSC) or marrow transplant from a donor with a compatible tissue type. Unfortunately, 71% of Black patients with blood cancer are unable to find a suitable match in the worldwide registry. How to help? All it takes is a swab of your cheek to find out if you are a match for him or another patient in need. His best chance of a match is with someone who shares his genetic heritage. | Gift of Life If you have Black or African-American ancestry, you may join the registry today. Sponsor a swab kit. Lab processing of every kit costs $60. Your contribution will help add new donors to the registry, who may be a match for Ancil or another patient. Spread the word through social media. The more people who join the registry, the faster he will find a donor.
He graduated from Florida A&M University (FAMU), where he obtained his undergraduate and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees. Besides being an alumnus, Ancil also teaches at FAMU and supports the Black Men in Medicine chapter at the university. Gift of Life is now working with Ancil and their family to help find a matching donor to give blood stem cells and help him recover. 🙏
