| | 🫨🩵 We love NYC, but… Ex-New Yorkers reveal why they packed up for Florida and never looked back. | NY Post 125,000 New Yorkers moved to Florida between 2018 and 2022, taking nearly $14B in income with them, seeking a sunnier, cheaper, and safer lifestyle. 💸 Alex Taub, co-founder of Goblintown, relocated from Manhattan to Miami with his family in July 2020. For the same price as their NYC apartment, they now have a spacious house with a pool and backyard. Many wealthy New Yorkers have followed, with 26,000 moving to Miami-Dade County. Alex, once hesitant to leave New York, now enjoys a better work-life balance and more time with his kids. Bryan Goldberg, CEO of Bustle Media, praises South Florida's accessible government, unlike New York's bureaucracy. During the pandemic, many New Yorkers were drawn to Florida's low rent and remote work opportunities, finding its sunshine and quality of life irresistible. Many have no plans to return despite missing New York's energy. David Feingold, CEO of Broadstreet Global, said he has at least 20 people in his organization who have put in a request to relocate from NYC to South Florida. He said that none of them have regretted their decision. “That’s the amazing thing – I thought I would get complaints about the lack of art and culture that you can only find in New York,” he said. 😉 Instead, the New York transplants have “bought themselves a boat, a bag of golf clubs, and they have been able to find alternative outlets for their time.” Feingold added: “People have offset what they lost by leaving New York.” David Goldberg, partner at Alpaca VC, echoed similar sentiments, noting that Miami’s unique culture, good weather, and no state income tax, make it an ideal place for his family. “We’ve all recruited a bunch of people to come down here,” he added.

| | 🦘 A kangaroo hopped along a busy Florida road before disappearing into farmland. | USA Today A kangaroo was spotted hopping along a busy road a few weeks ago, and although it might sound like a scene from down under, the marsupial was seen in Florida. The video was captured by Kaila Mullins, who told local news station FOX 35 that the kangaroo hung around a road in St. Cloud, Osceola County, on May 5 before darting off into nearby farmland. Other locals expressed concerns for the animal’s safety as well. Wildlife officials are investigating, but don’t yet know where the animal came from. Maybe, forget the "Great American Road Trip" – it looks like Australia’s finest have found a new route, and guess where they're hopping? Yep, straight to Florida! We can only imagine the conversation: “Why walk all the way from Australia when you can just hop to Florida? They’ve got great weather, no taxes, and a solid 5-star kangaroo-friendly rating!” 😆 Looks like the kangaroo are getting in on the action – joining ex-New Yorkers who’ve already traded high taxes for sunshine and palm trees. 🌴
