| | | Growth in Services and Education. By the time you are getting this, our CEO will be checking in at the Tallahassee Chamber Conference to network with our business community. Before diving in, don’t forget to vote for Danfoss Turbocor for Florida Chamber’s “Coolest Things Invented in Florida.” They are slightly behind in votes in their bracket, 2 days left for Sweet 16! Ever notice how some companies quietly grow until suddenly they’re global. That’s the case with one member of the Independent Welding Distributors Cooperative, which is now expanding its services across Florida. In academics, UF isn’t slowing down either – leading with vision and advancing in research and student growth. |

| | ACQUISITION SIDNEY LEE WELDING SUPPLY |
|
| | 🔥🥽 Sidney Lee Welding Supply, Inc. Acquired 2 Companies in Florida. | MDM Sidney Lee Welding Supply, a member of the Independent Welding Distributors Cooperative, is officially spreading its flame, striking metal in Florida with not one, but 2 new acquisitions. The longtime welding gas and equipment giant has just torched into Tallahassee and Lake City, bringing the heat from its original HQ in Hampton, GA. The company acquired and rebranded the former VMW Welding Supply in Tallahassee and North Florida Welding Supply in Lake City. Founded in 1968, Sidney Lee Welding Supply has served metro Atlanta and central Georgia for decades, operating a 5,000 sq. ft. cylinder filling plant in Hampton for gases like oxygen, nitrogen, argon, and helium. They deliver everything from small tanks to 11,000 gallon bulk liquids. Now, after 57 years, they’ve made their first leap beyond Georgia – expanding into Florida. Why now? Maybe it’s the palm trees. Maybe it’s the logistics. Or maybe the Panhandle just needed some Southern-welded service energy. They offer a full range of services, including welding equipment and supplies, industrial and specialty gases (delivered via cylinder, micro-bulk, or bulk), dry ice production, equipment rentals, and repair services. They also run Easy CO₂ for beverage gas services, serving industries from construction to food, medical, and film with fast delivery and expert support.

| 📈 Momentum Surges at UF for Research and Student Growth. | Tal Dem The University of Florida announced a new record of $1.33B in research spending last year. | Learn More UF is advancing even as others flounder. Philanthropy at UF has reached new heights, with over $560M in new gifts and commitments raised last fiscal year – a significant increase from $496M the year prior and their best fundraising performance in 3 years. This strong support reflects the growing confidence of their alumni, partners, and friends in UF’s forward momentum. Interest in joining the Gator Nation is at an all-time high, with a record 91,884 applications for the Class of 2029 – up 23% from last year. It’s also their most competitive applicant pool yet, filled with students ready to thrive at UF. UF is also expanding its academics. In June, the Jax City Council unanimously approved transferring over 20 acres of land to UF, along with an additional $50M, bringing the city's total contribution to $100M. This pushes total investment in UF Jax to $300M, with another $80M secured for the Florida Semiconductor Institute. Let’s not forget UF’s 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball National Championship. A thrilling win over Houston that energized the Gator Nation. It was a proud moment for the community and a powerful reminder that excellence thrives across campus. 🏀
