| | 🚀 IGNITE Tallahassee Launches to Power Startups in North Florida. | FSU News Florida State University has launched IGNITE Tallahassee, a 40,000-sq.ft. startup incubator at Innovation Park, in partnership with the Leon County Research and Development Authority. The new hub is designed to give deep-tech ventures with the infrastructure, mentorship, and resources they need to grow locally. 🏢 The facility features 30+ labs, 20+ private offices, and a dozen meeting rooms, plus shared spaces that allow startups to conduct research and development without expensive infrastructure buildouts. Entrepreneurs can immediately access high-end equipment to accelerate their path to market. IGNITE is already working with science-driven ventures such as Piersica (next-gen batteries), VSURGIC (real-time surgical video platform), and QuarryBio (rapid diagnostic tool for gastrointestinal damage). These startups show how the incubator helps bold ideas translate into impactful solutions. By offering tailored services - such as SBIR/STTR proposal workshops, IP strategy sessions, and funding guidance - alongside partnerships with TiE Tampa Bay, FSU researchers, and local business leaders, IGNITE aims to keep talent in North Florida and strengthen the region’s economy. The Grand Opening is set for October 21, 2025, during FSU’s Discovery Days. Attendees can tour the facility, meet the first incubator companies, and hear directly from tech startup specialists about programs available to entrepreneurs across the region.

| 🎥 Prime Video Sports + Amazon Future Engineer: Behind the Streams. | Amazon Future Engineer Amazon Future Engineer is teaming up with Prime Video Sports to offer a free, 45-minute virtual tour called Behind the Streams, designed for grades 3-12. Students get a front-row seat to see how computer science, artificial intelligence, and real people work together to deliver live sports streams around the world. The program takes learners from the stadium to their devices, showing how data travels with minimal delay and how engineers anticipate and fix issues so fans never miss a second of the game. Students also discover who creates new features that make sports streaming more interactive and engaging. Along the way, participants are introduced to exciting STEM careers like Producer, Technical Operations Manager, Live Event Support Engineer, Product Manager, and Applied Scientist - making the connection between classroom learning and future job opportunities. ✨ The tour is fully aligned to CSTA K-12 Computer Science Standards and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), and teachers get access to a toolkit with facilitation guides, worksheets, and other resources to extend learning before and after the session. For an extra dose of fun, the tour is also available on Kahoot!, where students can play in a game-like format while exploring how engineers use AI and machine learning to make live sports streaming a slam dunk. 🏀
