| | 🤝🏻 FSU Unveiled New Collaboration Space in West Palm Beach. | FSU News Florida State University (FSU) marked a significant milestone on Tuesday, Sept. 16, with the grand opening of its new West Palm Beach collaboration space at The Press building. FSU President Richard McCullough emphasized the new space as a hub for innovation, collaboration, and opportunity during an event that welcomed university leaders, donors, alumni, community members, and local officials. Thanks to a generous donation from alumnus Benjamin Macfarland, founder and CEO of SROA Capital–a real estate firm with holdings in 32 states and the UK–FSU is expanding its South Florida presence with a new 2,900 sq. ft. collaboration space in West Palm Beach, provided rent-free for three years to support regional partnerships. As a College of Business student, Macfarland launched a successful valet parking company employing 40 local students and later expanded into student housing with over 3,200 FSU tenants. He has been a generous supporter of the Seminole Boosters and the College of Business, funding 2 research labs in Legacy Hall, set to open in 2026. His firm is also a longtime Legacy Sponsor of the FSU Real Estate Center’s annual TRENDS conference. The new space is open to all colleges, with the College of Business launching its executive education program in alternative investments this fall. In-person courses start this fall, online classes follow in November and December, and official classes begin in January. “The grand opening of the Florida State University-West Palm Beach collaboration space marks a remarkable milestone–one that unites our two communities in celebration of executive education, investment, philanthropy, and the burgeoning financial hub known as Wall Street South,” said College of Business Dean Michael Hartline.
