• Tallahassee’s creative community just got a little cozier. The Rising Stitch, a new fabric store and studio by mother-daughter duo Rebecca and Katherine Pitts, has opened its doors at 2030 Thomasville Road.

• Inspired by a shared love of sewing and the closure of Joann Fabrics, the pair created a space for makers of all levels to learn, connect, and revive the city’s garment-making scene.

• The shop offers a curated selection of fabrics, Janome machine support, and sewing lessons for everyone from first-time crafters to seasoned designers.
