| | 🏫 Florida’s First AI-Integrated Middle School Opens in Tallahassee This August. | Tal Dem Big changes are coming to education in Tallahassee as Tallahassee State College teams up with Charter Schools USA to launch Innovation Academy of Excellence, the first middle school in Florida to fully integrate artificial intelligence into its curriculum. Opening this August, the school will serve grades 6 through 8 and follow a micro-school format with a small student body of just 100 to 125 learners, allowing for more focused and personalized learning experiences. ✨ Students won’t just learn about AI. They’ll use it daily across subjects, developing real-world skills while also being taught how to use the technology ethically and responsibly. Although the school is expected to prepare students for high school at Tallahassee Collegiate Academy, which also has a strong STEM focus, the two schools will operate independently under the college’s governing board. Innovation Academy of Excellence will be housed in TSC’s University Partners building, and while staff and leadership have yet to be announced, excitement is building around this fresh and future-ready approach to middle school education in the state capital. 🏛️

| | 🖥️ UF’s New HiPerGator Supercomputer is Supercharging AI Innovation. | UF News Elias G. Eldayrie, UF's vice president and chief information officer, stated, “UF is the first higher education institution in the world to receive this technology.” The University of Florida is about to flip the switch on its fourth-generation HiPerGator supercomputer, making it the first university in the world to receive and deploy NVIDIA’s cutting-edge DGX B200 SuperPOD, powered by the new Blackwell GPUs. This tech leap will supercharge AI capabilities on campus, bringing up to 15x faster inferencing and 3x better AI training compared to previous systems. ⚙️ The rollout begins this June with early access to part of the system for campus users. By Fall 2025, the full system will be in production, enabling a new wave of breakthroughs in fields like environmental science, healthcare, and digital infrastructure — right from UF’s Gainesville campus. Built in collaboration with NVIDIA, Mark III, and UF Information Technology, the new HiPerGator includes 63 DGX B200 compute nodes, enabling massive AI training and research projects that rival national labs. 🏭 HiPerGator already supports over 8,000 users, with more than 33M research requests handled in the past year. It powers everything from UF’s AI-based medical research to projects like Florida’s Digital Twin, and is a key player in the university’s $1.26B annual research impact. As part of UF’s bold AI Across the Curriculum strategy, the new HiPerGator will strengthen AI learning across all disciplines. It also fuels NaviGator AI, a self-service AI platform launched in 2024 that gives all students, staff, and faculty access to models like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and more — bringing AI into everyday learning and problem-solving.
